I’m thinking we need a straight up special interest group.
Goal: Develop and protect a sustainable local industry based on the legal production of Cannabis.
I mean, realistically that is how things happen in this country, right? We need to raise money, and sponsor legislation, donate to campaigns. Throw our weight around! Step up! Represent!
Who will listen? Who will act?
I keep having the same conversation over and over again. “Humboldt is doomed.” It doesn’t have to be that way.
Who stands to gain?
Growers
Humboldt local businesses
Grow related industry, like hydroponics shops, and manufacturers and suppliers
I’m ready to start this thing. Who is in?

Humboldt needs lobbyists.
You should also talk to the local Truck & Car dealerships. I don’t think this area could support Harper, Fortuna Ford, & Lithia Motors with out the industry money that pours into them. Same for the motorsports places, I doubt a post marijuana economy here would purchase all those dirt bikes & quads. Or maybe just every business North of Santa Rosa
If I were selling anything from building supplies to toilet paper I’d want to do what I could to see that my customer base didn’t have a sudden and extremely dramatic decline.
